On June 19, 2017 IRIS (The Institute for Regional and International Studies) at AUIS arranged for a very fruitful roundtable discussion on entrepreneurship, titled, “Barriers & Opportunities for Entrepreneurship in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region”.
The event is part of a larger initiative to promote entrepreneurship and startups in Iraq and the KRI. This initiative includes:
- The production of a report on the state of the startup ecosystem in Iraq and the KRI, to serve as a framework for discussions at the roundtable;
- The roundtable event, which convened actors relevant to the entrepreneurship/startup ecosystems in Iraq and the KRI, as well as leading figures from the region; and
- The launch of an entrepreneurship lab (
incubator) at AUIS.
I was honored to be invited for the round table and really learnt a lot. More details on the event can be found in IRIS’s article.
