Course Description:
Fundamental and advanced information systems are introduced while maintaining a technical and behavioral perspective on all topics. The course emphasizes awareness of the managerial, organizational, and technological dimensions of today’s digital firms and intensively examines both the Information and IT architectures needed to support creativity and innovation in business processes.
A special emphasis is placed on the acquisition and management of organizational knowledge in a globally connected, distributed, and competitive environment. Instructionally, this course is participant focused and designed to encourage communication, collaboration, and the creative exchange of ideas both in and out of class. An online component will be used to coordinate and integrate discussion, communication, and out-of-class assignments.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Recognize and recommend digital technology for revenue growth, profitability, creativity and innovation.
- Use and apply information technology tools and techniques for reaching, engaging, and retaining customers.
- Assess and analyze strategic enterprise systems such as ERPs, SCMs, and CRMs.
- Discuss and communicate operational and strategic information systems using data analytics, visualization, and business intelligence.
- Practice and explore various technological tools for day-to-day tasks as well as long-term planning.
