Poetry
One of my hobbies has been reading/writing poems since my early childhood. I published my first poetry booklet in 2003, as the first attempt to go public with my poems.
More recently, I had my first live poetry reading at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS), which was composed of Kurdish readings by myself, English translations and readings by Ms. Marie Labrosse, the chair of the English department at AUIS, and some songs written by myself.
Lyrics
After publishing the booklet, I was contacted by some Kurdish singers who wanted to use some of my poems as lyrics for their songs, which I was glad with. I started working on writing some song lyrics since then until recently. I have to say that my work on my PhD and my duties at AUIS have taken me from writing for the last few years, but would love to go back to writing one day.
